THE CHURCH, God’s Church, was established in 33 A.D. on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2). The purpose and focus of that early church was to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and thereby bring as many as would accept it into a relationship with Him through repentance, water baptism in Jesus’ Name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. WE, THE PENTECOSTALS, are a part of that Church in these latter days, and therefore our primary purpose and focus remains the same. THE PURPOSE of The Pentecostals of Orange Park is first and foremost to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those in our community who have never been baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ or filled with God’s Spirit. Our purpose is to lead those who will into a greater dimension of relationship with God through regular gatherings of sincere worship, with preaching and teaching that deals with life’s issues. Our purpose is to reach and teach children and youth and train them to become champions for God. Our purpose is to impact our community by changing lives. Our purpose is to impact our world by sending missionaries to other countries. THE CHURCH is for every culture, every race, and every age. It’s for the poor, the rich, the educated, and the uneducated. Our purpose is to reach them. THE PENTECOSTALS of Orange Park exists to bring salvation to the sinner, healing to the hurting, and deliverance to those who are bound. Our 20/20 Vision WE DREAM of 2,000 plus members who have committed themselves to the purpose, the vision, the faith and the values of The Pentecostals of Orange Park and 1,000 potential members who attend service regularly. WE DREAM of hundreds of unsaved men, women, youth, and children being baptized and filled with God’s Spirit every year. WE DREAM of ministries that will impact lives regardless of age, language, social status, marital status, or health status. Therefore… WE DREAM of children’s ministries and youth ministries that will reach the kids of our families and community and will lead them to love Jesus Christ, His Word and His Church; to grow spiritually; and to develop into the design that God planned for them. WE DREAM of ministries designed to overcome language barriers such as Spanish, Chinese, and Haitian. WE DREAM of ministries that provide food and clothing to the poorest of our community. WE DREAM of an Alcohol & Chemical Treatment Recovery ministry. WE DREAM of a “Grace House” homeless and half-way shelter. AND… WE DREAM of powerful worship gatherings where the presence of God fills the building and no one leaves unsaved, unchanged, or unhealed. And all of Orange Park and Clay County knows what it means to “Experience Pentecost”. |
